Maxi

Maxwell Jazz, the authentic Jamaican Londoner. South London all the way. Been friends with him for time. Met him around 1998 when I was assisting on Faithless’ second album. The oldest and wisest Hempolic. True human being. Maxi masters his voice and for me takes it somewhere very special with our track In My Brain. Two long-arse verses; one he wrote one year, and the second I got off him just about exactly a year after.

In My Brain is our punchy dance anthem that truly represents what the Hempolics are. It’s a pacey, punky, dance track which Maxi destroys with his point of view, twist tale, modern lyrics about marijuana. This is our ganga anthem. Love the track and love Maxi. Big up.
